As I sat with guitar in hand; singing to the Lord this morning. A story came to mind. I want to bring this to the forefront.
A man was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help. Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the man shouted to the other on the roof, “Jump in, I can save you. “The stranded fellow shouted back, “No, it’s OK, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me.” So the rowboat went on. Then a motorboat came by. “The fellow in the motorboat shouted, “Jump in, I can save you.” To this the stranded man said, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.” So the motorboat went on. Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, “Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety.” The stranded man again replied, “No thanks, I’m praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith.”So the helicopter reluctantly flew away. Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with Jesus, at which point the man exclaimed, “I had faith in you but you didn’t save me, you let me drown. I don’t understand why!” Jesus replied, “I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?”
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts
– Isaiah 55:8-9
Sometimes we are oblivious to the workings of God. We need to remember; our ways are not His ways, our thoughts are not his thoughts. What we expect may not be what God has in mind. Know the Lord is sending blessings your way. You cannot receive if you do not accept. You do not need a miracle every day when there are miracles in the every day. Sometimes miracles extend beyond one experience. Breathe, open your eyes. Know you are blessed.
